The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) appointed Tourism Development International to untertake a training programme to support the agritourism sector in Mukhrani, Georgia.

TDI delivered the first two modules of the training programme from Monday 23rd April to Saturday 28th April. The venue for the training was Chateau Mukhrani, and course participants were also taken on field trips to get an appreciation of the rich heritage of their local area, and to experience the Mtskheta tourist market at first hand.

Guest speakers from the Georgian National Tourism Authority, Startup Georgia, Enterprise Georgia, the Regional Development Agency and Rural Communities Development Agency provided valuable insights into 'Tourism Policy and Planning for Agritourism Destinations' and 'Planning and Setting-up your Agritourism Enterprise'.

The following television report was aired on local television networks in Georgia last week:

The next two modules, which will be focussing on 'Agritourism Business Operation' and 'Food Safety and Quality' will take place in the latter part of June.
